Comparison

SignHR vs sumHR

Both avoid the bracket arithmetic the rest of the Indian market runs on. The difference is what you get for the per-head rate.

All comparisons

Why teams choose SignHR

  • Shift scheduling and rostering for teams that do not all work nine to five
  • Biometric device ingestion and face attendance, not just an app punch
  • Assets, recruitment and approval chains in the same record
  • Built-in Agentic HR assistant

Where sumHR is strong

  • One published annual figure and nothing else to work out — the clearest price in the market
  • Deliberately light, which is genuinely the right answer for a small office team
  • Less product to administer, so less to configure and less to ignore

What each one costs

SignHR

Core HR
Published per employee, per month
No headcount minimum, no setup fee, no lock-in. Modules are added on top.
Agentic HR
Flat monthly add-on
Priced per company rather than per seat, so it does not scale with hiring.

sumHR

All-in-one
₹1,428 per employee per year
The only figure sumHR publishes — a single annual per-head rate for the whole product.

Read the fine print: ₹1,428 a year is ₹119 per employee per month, which at 50 employees is above greytHR and Pocket HRMS. One clean number is not automatically the cheapest.

What moves if you switch

Employee records
SignHR has no bulk employee import today — people are added one at a time, so budget for that rather than assuming a CSV load. Export your directory from sumHR first so you have the data to work from, and talk to us before you plan the cutover.
Leave balances
Export current balances and post them as opening adjustments against each employee's ledger. Accrual history itself does not transfer.
Attendance history
This one does transfer. SignHR has an attendance import with a downloadable template, so historic punches can be loaded for reporting continuity — most teams bring in the current financial year and archive the rest.
Documents
Bulk-download from sumHR and re-upload per employee. There is no direct connector between the two products.
Payroll history
Does not transfer. Keep your sumHR payslip archive — SignHR computes payroll inputs going forward rather than restating past runs.

Who should pick which

Pick SignHR if

Teams that need more than a light HRMS — shifts, biometrics, assets, recruitment — and are not a single-location office team where the light product is genuinely enough.

Pick sumHR if

Teams that only need a light HRMS — a small office working from one location — where sumHR's deliberately small product is the right amount of software and the clearest price in the market.

Questions

₹1,428 a year works out to ₹119 per employee per month, which at 50 employees is above greytHR and Pocket HRMS. One clean number is not automatically the cheapest — compare at your headcount and against the depth you actually need.

Partly, and the honest answer matters here. Leave balances and attendance history do transfer — balances as opening ledger adjustments, punches through SignHR's attendance import and its template. Employee records do not: SignHR has no bulk employee import today, so people are added one at a time. Documents are a bulk download from sumHR and a re-upload per employee, and payroll history stays where it is. Talk to us before you plan the cutover.

It is deliberately light, which is a feature for a small office team — less to configure, less to administer, less to ignore. If that is your situation, sumHR is a legitimate choice rather than a weaker one.

Our take

Should you switch to SignHR?

sumHR's simplicity is a feature, not a gap, and for a thirty-person office that works from one location it may well be enough. The comparison turns on whether you have shift, field or factory staff: that is where a light HRMS stops and where attendance depth starts to matter. Compare at your headcount — sumHR's ₹1,428 a year is ₹119 a month per employee, which is not the cheap end of this market once you total it.
