What each one costs

SignHR

Core HR
Published per employee, per month
No headcount minimum, no setup fee, no lock-in. Modules are added on top.
Agentic HR
Flat monthly add-on
Priced per company rather than per seat, so it does not scale with hiring.

factoHR

Free
Free forever
Up to 20 employees. The free tier covers core HR for very small teams.
Core
₹4,999/month
Up to 50 employees, then ₹69 per additional employee. Billed quarterly.
Premium
₹5,999/month
Up to 50 employees, then ₹89 per additional employee. Billed quarterly.
Ultimate
₹6,999/month
Up to 50 employees, then ₹119 per additional employee. Billed quarterly.

Read the fine print: factoHR is free to 20 employees, but the first paid plan is priced for 50 — so a 21-person team crosses the free tier and pays for 50 seats. Selfie punch, face recognition, timesheets and recruitment are add-ons on top, and all paid plans are billed quarterly.

What moves if you switch

Employee records
SignHR has no bulk employee import today — people are added one at a time, so budget for that rather than assuming a CSV load. Export your directory from factoHR first so you have the data to work from, and talk to us before you plan the cutover.
Leave balances
Export current balances and post them as opening adjustments against each employee's ledger. Accrual history itself does not transfer.
Attendance history
This one does transfer. SignHR has an attendance import with a downloadable template, so historic punches can be loaded for reporting continuity — most teams bring in the current financial year and archive the rest.
Payroll history
Does not transfer. Keep your factoHR payslip archive — SignHR computes payroll inputs going forward rather than restating past runs.

Who should pick which

Pick SignHR if

Teams past twenty employees — where factoHR's free plan stops applying — or teams that expect to grow, want a per-employee price that tracks headcount without a 50-seat bracket, and do not want punch, face recognition, timesheets and recruitment priced as add-ons.

Pick factoHR if

Very small teams under twenty employees who want core HR handled for free, forever. factoHR's free tier genuinely covers a small team at no cost, and its payroll engine has a long-standing Indian statutory track record. If you are under twenty people and staying there, SignHR would be money you do not need to spend.

Questions

Under twenty employees, no — factoHR's free plan is genuinely free and hard to argue with. Past twenty, the first paid tier is ₹4,999/month priced for up to 50 employees, so a 21-person team pays for 50 seats, and selfie punch, face recognition, timesheets and recruitment are add-ons on top. SignHR's per-employee rate simply follows headcount.

The free plan stops applying and the first paid plan — Core at ₹4,999/month — is priced for up to 50 employees, so you pay for 50 seats even with 21 people. With SignHR, the price rises per employee instead of stepping to a 50-seat block.

Partly, and the honest answer matters here. Leave balances and attendance history do transfer — balances as opening ledger adjustments, punches through SignHR's attendance import and its template. Employee records do not: SignHR has no bulk employee import today, so people are added one at a time. Documents are a bulk download from factoHR and a re-upload per employee, and payroll history stays where it is. Talk to us before you plan the cutover.

factoHR's free tier up to 20 employees is a real offer for very small teams, its pricing is published in both rupees and dollars, and its payroll and statutory engine has decades of Indian compliance behind it. Those are genuine strengths.

Our take

Should you switch to SignHR?

Under twenty employees factoHR's free plan is hard to argue with. Past that, its tiers bracket at fifty and step up in price three times, where per-employee pricing simply follows headcount.

Our QC checks are logged every single shift. My last audit was a five-minute export instead of a week digging through registers.
