Salary slip generator
Enter the earnings and deductions, download it as a PDF or a Word file you can put on your letterhead. It builds a template — not an official payslip — and your figures never leave the browser.

Template only — not an official payslip, and not evidence that any contribution or tax has been filed.
The same marking appears on the downloaded file, so it travels with the document. Your figures are never sent anywhere — the file is built in your browser.
What belongs on a salary slip
The point of a payslip is that someone can check it. That means every component listed on its own line: basic and HRA separately, because an HRA exemption cannot be claimed against a lump sum; provident fund separately, because the contribution is derived from basic and is verifiable against the EPFO record.
A slip that shows only “gross” and “net” passes no such check. It is also the version that causes disputes at exit, when gratuity and full-and-final settlement are computed from basic and nobody can agree what basic was.
This generator does no statutory maths on purpose. Work out the numbers with the calculators above, then enter them — that way you know where each figure came from rather than trusting a website to have guessed your regime, your state’s professional tax and your PF election correctly.
The document this produces is a template. It is not issued by an employer and is not evidence that any contribution or tax has been filed.
Frequently asked questions
No. It produces a template from figures you type in. Nothing is verified, nothing is issued by an employer, and no provident fund or tax filing is implied by it. The downloaded document carries that wording on its face so it travels with the file rather than staying on this page.
Nowhere. The Word file is built in your browser — there is no upload step and no request to our servers carrying your numbers. Close the tab and nothing remains.
Employer and employee identification, the pay period, each earning component listed separately (basic, HRA, allowances), each deduction listed separately (provident fund, professional tax, income tax, any recovery), and the net payable in figures and words. Listing components separately matters — a single lump sum makes it impossible to verify PF or claim an HRA exemption.
Deliberately not. It totals what you enter and nothing more. A tool that guessed statutory amounts would produce a document that looks authoritative while being wrong for most people — use the PF & ESI and take-home calculators for those figures, then enter them here.
You can, but retyping every employee's figures each month is where errors come from. Payroll software holds each salary structure once and issues slips from the run that actually paid people, which is also what makes a slip verifiable rather than a document someone typed.
PDF if you are circulating it as-is — it looks the same everywhere and is harder to alter by accident. Word if you want to add your letterhead, adjust the wording or sign it before sending. Both contain the same figures and the same template marking.
Issuing slips for a whole team?
SignHR generates payslips from the payroll run that actually paid people, so each one traces back to a computation rather than to whatever was typed that month.
