What each one costs

SignHR

Core HR
Published per employee, per month
No headcount minimum, no setup fee, no lock-in. Modules are added on top.
Agentic HR
Flat monthly add-on
Priced per company rather than per seat, so it does not scale with hiring.

greytHR

Essential
₹2,495/month
Up to 50 employees, then ₹45 per additional employee. The entry paid tier.
Growth
₹4,495/month
Up to 50 employees, then ₹85 per additional employee. Nearly double the Essential base.
Premium
Quoted
Not published — greytHR prices this tier on request, so it has to be compared against its quote.

Read the fine print: greytHR brackets its plans at 50 employees, so a team of 55 pays the 50-seat block and then ₹45 (Essential) or ₹85 (Growth) per head on top — and the step from Essential to Growth nearly doubles the base before you add anyone.

What moves if you switch

Employee records
SignHR has no bulk employee import today — people are added one at a time, so budget for that rather than assuming a CSV load. Export your directory from greytHR first so you have the data to work from, and talk to us before you plan the cutover.
Leave balances
Export current balances and post them as opening adjustments against each employee's ledger. Accrual history itself does not transfer.
Attendance history
This one does transfer. SignHR has an attendance import with a downloadable template, so historic punches can be loaded for reporting continuity — most teams bring in the current financial year and archive the rest.
Payroll history
Does not transfer. Keep your greytHR payslip archive — SignHR computes payroll inputs going forward rather than restating past runs.

Who should pick which

Pick SignHR if

Teams that want the full employee lifecycle — onboarding, attendance, leave, tasks and an AI assistant — priced per employee, so a 55-person company never pays a 50-seat block plus top-ups. SignHR has no bracket to cross and no tier that nearly doubles the base.

Pick greytHR if

Companies whose dominant problem is Indian payroll. greytHR's statutory engine for TDS, PF, ESI and professional tax has been tested across a far larger payroll customer base, and its compliance filings for Indian government submissions are deeper than SignHR's payroll-input computation. If payroll is the whole job, greytHR is the safer, more proven choice.

Questions

At 50 employees greytHR's Essential plan is ₹2,495/month and Growth is ₹4,495/month — but a 55-person team pays the 50-seat block plus per-head top-ups, and the step to Growth nearly doubles the base. SignHR publishes a per-employee rate with no headcount bracket, so the honest comparison is your greytHR total against SignHR's per-employee price.

Partly, and the honest answer matters here. Leave balances and attendance history do transfer — balances as opening ledger adjustments, punches through SignHR's attendance import and its template. Employee records do not: SignHR has no bulk employee import today, so people are added one at a time. Documents are a bulk download from greytHR and a re-upload per employee, and payroll history stays where it is. Talk to us before you plan the cutover.

SignHR computes payroll inputs — PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS are handled as first-class statutory work — and hands off to your payroll engine for disbursement. greytHR runs a full payroll engine. If you need the system itself to pay people, that difference matters.
