Manage Attendance and Time Tracking
Punch in/out, corrections, overtime, and logs
How employees mark attendance
Employees can punch in and out from the Attendance page on the web or the mobile app. The available methods depend on your company's configuration.
Punch methods:
- Kiosk — tap on a shared device at the office entrance.
- Face Recognition — take a selfie using the device camera.
- Biometric Device — use a connected fingerprint or iris scanner.
- Geo Tagged — punch from your mobile phone with GPS stamp.
What gets recorded:
- Timestamp — exact time of check-in and check-out.
- Location — GPS coordinates (if geo-tagged or geo-fenced attendance is enabled).
- Photo — selfie captured at punch time (if selfie capture is enabled).
- Effective hours — calculated from check-in to check-out minus break time.
Late or early punches are flagged in the attendance log for manager review.

Review the attendance log
Go to Attendance to view the team attendance log. This is the central view for monitoring who's present, absent, or on leave.
Log features:
- Daily grid view — colour-coded cells make it easy to spot patterns at a glance.
- Filter by department, date range, or attendance status (present, absent, late, on leave).
- Click any entry to see detailed punch times, location data, and the selfie captured at punch time.
- Export the log to Excel for payroll processing or compliance reporting.
Handle attendance corrections
If an employee forgets to punch in or out, they can submit a correction request to update the record.
Submitting a correction:
- 1The employee goes to their dashboard or Requests and clicks 'Attendance Correction'.
- 2They enter the date, the corrected check-in/check-out times, and a reason.
- 3The request routes through the configured approval flow.
Manager review:
- 1The manager reviews the request under Attendance or Requests.
- 2They compare the request against any existing punches and notes.
- 3Approve to update the attendance log retroactively, or reject to keep the original record intact.
Review and approve overtime
Overtime is calculated automatically based on the rules you configured. Managers review and approve OT entries before they feed into payroll.
Overtime workflow:
- 1Go to Overtime to view all OT entries for the selected period.
- 2Each entry shows: employee name, date, OT hours, and the calculated pay amount.
- 3If OT requires pre-approval, pending requests appear here for manager review.
- 4Approve or reject each entry — approved OT feeds into payroll computations.
Configure OT caps and rules under Settings > Leave & Attendance > Attendance to comply with local labour laws.
Use the calendar view
The Calendar page provides a team-wide view combining attendance, leaves, holidays, and events in one place.
- Switch between monthly and weekly views.
- Each day shows who is present, on leave, or on holiday — with colour coding.
- Click a day to see the attendance breakdown for that date.
- Managers can add team events or reminders directly from the calendar.
- Useful for planning — see at a glance who's available on any given day.
