Attendance Regularisation

Attendance regularisation is the process of correcting an attendance record after the fact — a missed punch, a forgotten check-out, or time worked away from the usual place — through a request the manager approves.

Also known as: regularisation, attendance correction, missed punch

Missed punches are ordinary. Someone goes straight to a client site, a device fails, a phone dies, a person forgets to check out and the system records a fourteen-hour day. Without a correction path, those records either stay wrong or get quietly edited by whoever has access, and neither is acceptable when the record feeds payroll.

Regularisation makes the correction a request rather than an edit. The employee states what actually happened, a manager approves it, and the record carries both the corrected value and the fact that it was corrected, by whom and why. That trail is the difference between a defensible timesheet and one that somebody typed.

Good policy puts a window on it — commonly the current payroll cycle — because a correction raised three months later cannot be verified by anyone and arrives after the pay it affects has been run.

The volume of regularisation requests is itself a signal. A team raising them constantly usually has a policy or device problem rather than a discipline problem, and treating it as the latter fixes nothing.

Our QC checks are logged every single shift. My last audit was a five-minute export instead of a week digging through registers.
